My secondary IP doesn't work.

I have two IPs assigned to my server, I am now running two game servers but they need the same port. Would I be able to just input the second IP into my third party server starter or is there setup required before I can use the IP.

Thanks for contacting us today. If you ordered the VDS with 2 IPs, they should both be assigned to the network adapter and usable by software on the server. Most game servers allow you to specify the IP the game runs on, so if you fill this in with the second IP, you should be set.

It is still making both servers one IP even though I list the second one under my secondary IP.

How so? I am inputting two separate IP's for each server on my third party server starter. Is that what you mean? Also the second IP is a public IP as well right?

I am using Server Checker, that is the third party software.

Your second IP sounds like it is working, but you game server just isn't accepting it. What type of server are you running?

It sounds like whatever tool you are using is not defining the IP correctly. Have you tried manually defining the IP on the command line for the server?

With Garrysmod, you specify the IP address on the command line. For instance, you might use this command line:

srcds.exe -game garrysmod -ip x.x.x.x +maxplayers 32 -console -nocrashdialog -norestart +r_hunkalloclightmaps 0 -tickrate 33

The "x.x.x.x" is the IP address that you wish for the server to run on, and you must include it for all servers that are running.
