Suggestion for alerts
I have a VPS and all the alerts about the weekly DDOS attack or server move and what-not are sent to my account E-Mail. this is useless because I never check my email. I think it would be a benefit to be able to set an email address to receive alerts at. (and i can use my Cell-phone's email-sms conversion system to get a happy text about the weekly DDOS). OR if there was an option to Natively receive alerts by SMS. it would be much more useful than only having the option of notifications to one location. Also, if the option was to send notifications to multiple emails (or preferably sms phones) that would help with people designated to administer the server(s) to have access to the information as it happens.
Re: Suggestion for alerts
Adding extra accounts support just for alerts is something that I can look into. For the time being, I'd recommend setting this up yourself by creating a second account with the email that you wish to receive the alerts and giving it access to only the "Status" and "Events log" pages. You can log in with the second account and configure it to receive the types of alerts that you want.
Re: Suggestion for alerts
You could also setup an email forwarder in your email account to forward all emails from a specific address to your phone.
Not a NFO employee
Re: Suggestion for alerts
I will look into setting up a "status account". and Soja great idea, but I don't believe my Email provider supports that, but if it does It will be a consideration. I'd imagine that its a forward everything or nothing option. And I really hate notifications of any kind on my phone. (thats why I leave it for important stuff like my server is broken or having a server attack, Or my work server did not complete the weekly backup or lost power) and regular text messages.
Also I think its great one of the Admin/Devs for the service(and forums) Totally replied. That speaks volumes about the service being provided
