Virtual server stuck in "stopped" status

I just upgraded my virtual server, but after the upgrade was completed, the server will not turn on. On the server control page, this is what is says:

Your virtual machine is stopped. The following actions are possible:

Turn on: Start the machine, as though you turned it on.

And if I trigger the "turn on" action, I get an email for the control action, then the page says it's being acted upon after I trigger the turn on action. If I reload the page then it just goes back to saying the virtual machine is stopped. How can this get fixed?

Definitely open a request via the "help" tab in your control panel so we can take a deeper look.
