Website hosting

Hello i would like to know what steps i need to take to host a website and put my own domain on it. I would also like to install phpbb, so if there is anything else i need to do

I tried searching the forums for this, but the search engine sucks and i just get a ton of replies and stuff.

There should be an autoinstaller in your control panel to install phpbb3.

No I have a virtual server not a webservice, unfortunately there is no control panel!

In that case you need to change the settings on your domain name provider and set your machine's IP in DNS A record type.

If you have an unmanaged VDS/VPS you will also need to install a web server (if you haven't already done so) - instructions to install a web server depend on what OS you are using.

I don't think webservice comes with your servers.
