OK so, something weird happened to my vds, it was running fine and everything went down. First thing I do is go to my control panel and reboot, well, after 5 reboots my vds asks me for my login information (its a linux), so, the password is not working.
After following this tutorial
http://www.nfoservers.com/forums/viewto ... =46&t=5792
I get the scren on the second post, where, I have to type init=/bin/bash after the word "quite". I press F10 and the machine proceeds to reboot.
Now I am logged in as Root, but if I type the command passwd to change it, i get this message
"Authentification token manupation error, password unchanged" Here is a screenshot.

Can someone help me please?
Thank you

Re: Problems changing VDS password
For others seeing this post, it is possible that root needed to be remounted read/write first.
mount -o remount,rw /
mount -o remount,rw /
