Spammers

Post by mcglonelevi »

Hello NFO Forum,

I am having issues with spam on my email accounts. I have SpamAssassin enabled; however, it only blocks about 50% of the spam that I receive. Do you have any ideas on how I could enable better spam protection?

Thanks,
Levi

One thing you can do is create a "Learn Spam" folder in your webmail client and start moving spam messages there. Do this for a while and the system will start learning what is spam and what isn't.

Yes, I recommend customizing your SpamAssassin database by using "Learn Spam". The overall filter is based on everyone's learned spam overall and isn't always best for specific clients' mixes -- you may use different words in your emails, with different frequencies, than average, preventing it from classifying them as well for you.
