Assign IP to L4D2 games on unmanaged VDS

I have saucebans installed and will be testing it

Saucebans is installed on the webserver

Ive added just one server for now

Problem is if I add a ban suacebans say it checking the server but it does not ban or kick the player

Ive copy the suggested txt that saucebans give you when you add a server to add to the databases.cfg file

Im not sure at this time whats up any sugesstions are welcome

Double check the rcon password you entered into the sourcebans website.

I have "Allow external connections" ticked

Ive googled this but their seems to be no real answer their

When the website can't ban someone that is on the server, there is an issue with the web server sending rcon commands to the game server.

Make sure the web server IP is not banned by the game server, you should be able to do this by typing "listip" in your servers console.

I went onto the server

It gave me this:-

I can kick ban and everything else through HLSW

Ok I tried on one of my uk servers and it works fine

I will add this to all my uk server,s not sure at the moment why it still not working on the DE server's

Ive added 6 Uk server and these are all woking fine with sourcebans

The DE server are all Ubuntu would this make a difference why Im have trouble? or would it ahve anything to do with MM or SM?

The OS shouldn't make a difference, just make sure there is no whitelist or anything that restricts TCP on port 27015.

sm/mm should be loaded with the sourcebans plugin, but the version shouldn't matter much(just make sure you are using a somewhat recent release).

Its all sorted now and Ive added the rest of the De server's
It was nothing to do with my setup Im just glad I had UK servers
