Yet another FastDL question.
I am having trouble setting up FastDL on my TF2 server.
Here is the server.cfg line:
sv_downloadurl "http://myservername.site.nfoservers.com/hlserver/tf/"
I have tried using /server/tf/ and also just /tf/
The hosting I am using is the lite tier webhosting with NFO, and I have tried having the bz2 in both /server/tf/maps/ and also tried the /hlserver/tf/maps/ folders. I have also tried moving them to the default /public/server/tf/maps/ folder.
sv_allowdownload is set to 1.
So far no matter what I do gets me past TF2 saying the file is missing when I hop into the server in game, and I am pretty sure I have read just about every post I can find about this topic. As far as I can tell I am pointing everything in the right direction.
Anyone have any ideas ?
Thanks,
qwertydvorak

That does not appear to be a valid identifier in our system. Did you copy the correct URL?qwertydvorak wrote:http://playground.site.nfoservers.com/s ... b6.bsp.bz2
Though, just on a hunch. This is likely your issue.

@Kraze^NFo> Juski has a very valid point
@Juski> Got my new signature, thanks!
@Kraze^NFo> Out of context!
@Juski> Doesn't matter!
@Juski> You said I had a valid point! You can't take it back now! It's out there!

Re: Yet another FastDL question.
sorry. playground is the server, playgroundweb is the hosting. playgroundweb is the proper one, and it is typed correctly in the cfg.
Re: Yet another FastDL question.
sv_downloadurl "http://playgroundweb.site.nfoservers.com/tf/" is correct.
There are no maps on the web server. You will probably need to upload the files your clients need to download manually, as NFO's sync tool will not recognize your custom files when you do them the classic way.

Re: Yet another FastDL question.
i don't have access to the synctool. this is a vds. i just tried multiple things with the "hunch" link you gave me. i moved the files into a /custom/tf/maps/ folder and still no luck. currently the map files are sitting in: http://playgroundweb.site.nfoservers.co ... m/tf/maps/ still not sure what is wrong.... either way, thanks for the fast responses.

Definitely there.... Screenshot of Filezilla...

Re: Yet another FastDL question.
Have you modified anything on the Domains tab of your web package? If not, everything needs to go in the default provided "public" folder.
Think of the public folder as your website root. If you were to place a file called hello.txt in public, it would be available at http://playgroundweb.site.nfoservers.com/hello.txt.

Thank you for the heads up on the public folder. That is what did it. You guys were very helpful and I thank you greatly.
