Server doesn't allow me to chmod 0777 (Neither set read/writ

Post by teerialegends »

I am trying to get XenForo (Forum Software) to run on my server which requires me to set multiple folders to read/write (FTP chmod 0777) but no matter what I do it keeps resetting itself back to read only. Is there any way to please fix this as I am my own administrator on my server and I have Full Access to every file.

This counts for every folder/file located on my machine on every drive.

I have tried setting the attribution throughout settings and commandline, I also tried this: http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/256614 and it simply doesn't want to work. My files keep setting back to read only automatically and it really MUST change!

Windows doesn't use those types of file permissions.

You will want to use remote desktop to change file permissions the normal windows way.
