How do I start a server?

So I recently bought a VPS off nfo, and I am a beginner in using these. I would like to know how to start getting a server up and running and how to make another one. I was currently talking with an support guy but he told me to come here and said it's mostly point and click. I want to add a MC server and a GMod server. I am running on two cores right now.

Depending on the OS you can search for various tutorials on the internet. For Windows you can use Remote Desktop Access and for Linux you can use putty.

For a beginner, Gmod would be challenging, but it can be done if you really put some effort into it.

Thanks for replying, I easily installed a MC server using the Remote Desktop and I am currently doing GMod.

Keep in mind both of those games are resource hogs. You will be pushing the limits with only 2 cores.
