(On a VDS 64 bit system))
So we had a Tekkit server running for the kids, and while on remote desktop, I saw a notification to update java. So I did and it uninstalled java 7 as it is now out of date.
So nothing appeared to work. So I uninstalled it, and reinstalled the 64 bit version, and when trying to start the tekkit server, I got severe errors with long messages that I quite didn't understand.
So I uninstalled that and tried the 32 bit version, and when I start the server, I get this:
C:\Hosting\QUACK-Kids\Tekkit>java -Xmx3G -Xms2G -jar Tekkit.jar nogui
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for 3145728KB object heap
C:\Hosting\QUACK-Kids\Tekkit>pause
Press any key to continue . . .
Not sure the issue. I will test our Minecraft server and see what happens. It has been offline for a while.

Re: Tekkit Server with Java Issue
Lower your -Xmx to 2G or lower. 32 bit programs can't address more than 2GB.

Re: Tekkit Server with Java Issue
Decided to revert back to java 7.
These games are not ready for java 8, so they crash.
