Database/MySql for UT99 [UTStats]

Post by Chamberly »

Been forever since I done anything with this and I'm working with someone trying to install UTstats for my server (Unreal Tournament) for the first time since I'm going to play around with it.

The question is... which program is preferred to set up/use?
I've downloaded and installed http://cdn.mysql.com/Downloads/MySQLGUI ... winx64.msi and I got some kind of error which I am confused about. Seem like other used phpmyadmin or w/e it's called, should I use that instead?

If UTStats needs a MySQL database, you would need to download and install MySQL Server. Workbench is a client tool used to edit/manage databases and servers.

phpmyadmin is a php front-end that can be installed on a web server to manage a MySQL server/databases.

If you are using the web hosting here, you can install phpmyadmin using the "Autoinstallers" tab.

Not sure if you are telling me to install a server on my PC or what... kinda confusing. But if you are, I don't want that. I'm using your service that's why I came here, not to ask for help to get things installed on my pc.

Not sure if I need to install that or not?

Yeah I apologize, I was tired when I wrote that.

I saw you are posting in the web hosting section, to install phpmyadmin(which is all you should need), just use the autoinstallers tab and use the information provided on the databases tab of your webhosting package.

After that is installed, make a database on the databases tab, and log into phpmyadmin using the url you chose.

From phpmyadmin you can manage your database and do whatever is required to install UTStats.

Alright, got in touch with someone who installed UTStats with NFO and made it easier (Thanks WeeDMaN!). For future reference so I don't forget (it'll help other if so lol)..

I used Filezilla. Install UTStats on Gameserver and Webserver, edit said file in the instruction then upload so you don't waste time editing it constantly with a mess.

Didn't need any other program... so we're good.
