Following the installation instructions, I uploaded the contents of /web_uploads to my webserver and CHMOD'ed the required files/folders. Then I went to my webserver and tried to open the contents folder in order to install and got "Please delete the install directory before you use SourceBans" and "Please delete the updater directory before you use SourceBans", so I did that. Now I just keeping getting
Warning: mysqli_real_connect(): (HY000/1045): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO) in /usr/www/saturn/public/sourcebans/includes/adodb/drivers/adodb-mysqli.inc.php on line 113

when I try to open the sourcebans folder. Is there anything I am doing wrong? Thanks.

Re: Installing SourceBans Error
You need to go through the install process. When you do, you must use the mysql username and password that is provided in the databases tab of your control panel.
I would suggest deleting everything from your web space, re-uploading, and then visit your sourcebans url/install. For example http://mysite.site.nfoservers.com/sourcebans/install.

Re: Installing SourceBans Error
Thanks for the reply. Do I use phpMyAdmin to upload sourcebans?
Re: Installing SourceBans Error
No, use filezilla to upload the files/folders.
I think the install procedure installs the database for you.

I've tried using filezilla before, but this is what I got trying to connect using the mysql username and passoword.soja wrote:No, use filezilla to upload the files/folders.

Re: Installing SourceBans Error
To upload the files use the information on the "file manager" for filezilla.

Re: Installing SourceBans Error
I uploaded the files and folders like you said and went to sourcebans/install. Everything went well until step 5. After entering the info on this page:

Re: Installing SourceBans Error
I know this is probably getting repetitive for you, but this should be the last time you have to do it.
Perform a clean install.
Delete the existing database, and all of the web files.
re-upload the files, and make a new database.
Go through the install process one last time, making sure to use the correct mysql information.
My theory is the database already had some stuff in it when you did the install.
