Upgrade PhpMyAdmin

Hi,
Im just wondering, what is the correct way to upgrade PhpMyAdmin to the correct version found on their website.

If you haven't made customizations to your install, it is often easiest to wipe the folder and use the autoinstaller again. If you'd like to do it yourself, though, it should be fairly easy -- mostly a matter of downloading and extracting the files from their distribution.

Would I loose all of my databases if I just overwrite the files?

Your databases are stored via the database engine, not phpMyAdmin. phpMyAdmin is just database management software.
