My IP Being Blocked?

Post by Yasha »

Im not exactly sure what has caused the problem i am having, But i figured I would ask here to rule it out.

I have 2 home connections. One of them is an at&t 4g usb modem, the other is provided by comcast.

I rent 2 game servers from nfo and have been doing so for a while now, and in the past few days i have been having an issue where, when on my comcast connection i can not access nfoservers.com OR ANY GAME server i know of hosted by nfo, including both of my own as well as another server i have no connection to that i can verify is hosted by nfo. When refreshing my server browser in tf2 the game servers simply dont show up, i cant connect to them via the console directly it just fails after 4 retrys endlessly. I cant even load the nfoservers website, i get this every time http://prntscr.com/7tfdoo i have tried this on multiple diffrent pc's as well as 2 macs, i reinstalled windows on one machine even to see if it had anything to do with cookies or other information being stored in my browser that was stopping a new ip from connecting to the site. Nothing worked. Ive restarted my modem and router many times with no change. I do believe i have a static ip on my comcast connection which i cant change, ive asked. But upon switching to my other connection (att 4g) the site loads fine, servers are appearing in the browser once again, i can connect to them. No issues whatsoever. Exactly how it used to be while on my comcast connection. I have rented game servers from nfo for i think 8 months now and have never had any problems connecting to them or the site on my main comcast connection until now. It honestly feels like the site as well as any servers hosted by nfo are blocking connection to my ip. I can connect to the site and servers while using a vpn on my main comcast connection. Not exactly sure what would be causing this but any information would be helpful. I cant even be on this forum writing this without being on my 4g connection and as many know, att has strict data caps on their 4g modems so its not reasonable to have to be on it all the time while playing games or trying to access to control panel of my server through the site.

I should also make it clear that when on my comcast connection refreshing the server browser shows many servers, Just the ones that i can verify are hosted by nfo arent appearing, i can connect to other servers just fine, as well as go onto other sites while using this connection without problems.

Send us an email to support@nfoservers.com so we can take a deeper look for you. It is possible you were blocked from our network. If you were, it means that your router or a device on your network has been compromised and participated in an attack against us. When this occurs we add all involved IPs to our blacklist until the situation is resolved, and we send an abuse email to the registered abuse contact for the IP address.

I'd also recommend you investigate your network to see if you can identity the origin of the attack. Start with your router by flashing it to the latest available firmware. If a newer one is not available do a factory reset on it. Always change the password after you do this. You should also recommend scanning any computers for malware, as they could also be responsible for the attack.
