Domain Help

Post by Slashfire90 »

I had linked my domain quite recently, within the last 2-3 days, and yet it displays "No website is currently set up at this address." I am not quite sure if this matters to help, but I am using Mybb as my forum software. I used godaddy.com as my domain provider and have linked the nameservers to NS1.NFOSERVERS.COM and NS2.NFOSERVERS.COM. As well as adding the domain to my control panel. If anyone could help, I would greatly appreciate it. I will also post any needed information to help with this process. Thank you for your time and patience.

What is your domain name?

That site loads just fine for me. Be sure to clear your cookies/site cache and also try flushing your DNS. Once that's done it should pull up for you.

You can clear your cookies/site cache by pressing ctrl-shift-delete at the same time in any browser. Flushing your DNS can also be done by running this command in command prompt "ipconfig /flushdns".

Thank you, that seems to have helped. I have one last question. I wanted to delete the original subdomain that you guys have supported for me, yet I am unsure if that will once again break the website.

On the 11th i had copied the files of the web server into a folder in case of me losing the files when i applied the new domain. Yet when i put the files back in, none of the accounts, files, posts or anything shows up. What can I do?

That information would be stored in a database and should still be there. You would just need to be sure that the forum itself is directed at that database.

How could I point my forums towards it?

It should be configured to use that already. Adding/removing a domain name wouldn't cause something like that to be changed. The only way that would be changed is if it was manually adjusted it. Are you positive you had all of your post..etc working before you added the domain name?

That would mean there's something else at play here as adding a domain isn't going to cause what you're describing. If you login to phpMyAdmin and view the database is it populated with data?
