Make an A record for your domain that points to your VDS IP address after you have the web server online.

Did you set up virtual hosts for apache? It is generally not recommended to use Xampp for a live environment.Rage wrote:I did that and it takes me to /dashboard for Xamppsoja wrote:Make an A record for your domain that points to your VDS IP address after you have the web server online.

Install a normal application stack, download the individual pieces of software and setup/configure them yourself. You could also simply use a webhosting package here if you want simplicity and performance.Rage wrote:Ah no i did not do that. I would definitely recommend doing this, we see so many customers that end up with compromised machines by running XAMPP, AppServ and other such software. It's very insecure. I've seen some installs get compromised within minutes.soja wrote:Install a normal application stack, download the individual pieces of software and setup/configure them yourself. Or, you could spend hours searching "how-to's" and then hardening xampp- and then hoping you got everything. Way easier, and safer, to install everything from scratch.
