Downgrading Service question

I've recently taken over care of our account and in an effort to cut unnecessary costs we are interested in downgrading our service from 4 cores to 2 cores. I noticed that this will take us from "managed" servers to "unmanaged" servers. Will the downgrade force us to reinstall all servers or will they be migrated intact? The current storage footprint is within the 2 core setup range.

If you switch to unmanaged(you will be forced to if you downgrade) you will lose your installed servers. You can back them up prior to the downgrade, and install them yourself on the unmanaged system.

If you have a lot of servers using their own IP addresses, you can get them back by adding additional IPs to the VDS after you submit the change order.

When I just checked the list, is shows 2 core managed or un-managed. Unless I am missing something.

As for the backups, if they are Steam based games, all you need to backup for the servers are your configs. Fresh server install, re-apply your configs are youre good to go. The would apply to plugins etc as well.

You might want to check that order page again. Unless it is location related, it looks to me like you should not be forced from one type to the other. I did look at Atlanta, since that is where I rent.

The option is greyed out if you select anything under 4-core. I was initially able to select managed with the 2-core package selected, but when I selected managed it went back to having the 4-core package selected. I wasn't able to repeat this though.

Follow up to this. We would like to downgrade completely to just a TS server.

Keeping the current IP for the TS server is preferable, but when look at the package it seems that the VDS, TS, and website are all bundled together.

Is there a way to unmarry the TS server from the package and just keep that, or do I have to completely cancel the package and order a new TS server?

Yes, you would just need to do a change order. These are the instructions for that.

1. Visit our order page here: https://www.nfoservers.com/order-webhosting.php
2. Select the same specifications that you have now for your package, then modify the options from there to match your needs.
3. Click "This is a change to an existing server" at the bottom of the page and make sure that your existing package ID is selected before submitting.
4. You will see a confirmation page showing all your changes and providing further information on how to finalize the changes. Make sure to read this completely!

4-core is the smallest managed available if I am reading it correctly. The option is there for smaller VPS's but it is greyed out and cannot be selected.

Sorry for the double post. Does this look like the correct way to downgrade and keep our TS IP address? Location is the same as it is currently.
