Dedicated Machine to Run Minecraft/TF2

Post by LVLmeup »

Hello everyone! i come to you for some help, i used to run a Minecraft server through a VDS on windows unmanaged.
I recently purchased a Full Dedicated machine on windows managed, and wasn't aware i wouldn't be able to have a Minecraft server on managed only unmanaged. :( :(
So now im stuck with paying for another OS change, and i come to you all for help to get it right.
I am now forced to switch to Linux Managed to get a Minecraft server, can you guys give me advice on a setup that will run Minecraft/TF2 efficiently. (How do i get extreme accelerated? and does it make a difference in fps games)
Thanks again.

Linux Managed will run both of those games, and do it very well. You won't need any strange configuration to get both games working.

That sucks! But as far as I remember - I do recall seeing a statement that says Minecraft does not operate on managed Windows (just as I cannot install Minecraft on my managed VDS). I don't remember where I saw it.. but I do know it's there! I'll probably find it once I start browsing in a few, since I just got home from work.

You will not go wrong with choosing linux managed, either way. As soja said - you unfortunately do not get to choose the flavor. But this is fine to me when it comes to the managed servers here at NFO; they always give me better results nonetheless.
