Our server is located in Chicago...and i live the STL area and in ur test servers i was running ping in the teens now i run in the 30's whats going on with that? Also a clan member in champaign, IL is gettin a higher ping then me his ISP is faster then mine (3 meg) (mine is 386 k)and his computer is far superior whats goign on with that? What could be going on? is it the server or somethign else or what?
is it possible you were test pinging an accelerated server and your server is not accelerated?
If you're ever having ping issues its best to send us a tracert.
for instructions on tracerts, see the tutorials section of these forums
You also have to keep in mind that Chicago is pure L3 and we are therefore not able to change routes. It is what it is and there is very little that we can do to change that. The prices for this location reflect that.

our other locations use InterNAP bandwidth. with InterNAP we have the unique ability to often times route customers around trouble spots that cause high-ping. With Level3, unfortunately, we dont have that luxury.
Well unless you are purchasing a public server with 18 or more slots, I wouldn't recommend the high-cpu priority.
I love ping accel, I have it on my server and it's awesome. So yes, I would recommend it.

Let me guess: Your friend uses Comcast cable? AT&T (which Comcast purchases bandwidth from) has some routing issues to our Chicago location.
and if i dont have a ping accelerator can i get one now?
without changeing everything
Yes, you can change the server at any time through the price/order page. As long as you keep the game type the same, it won't affect any customizations you've made.
