Server has choppy performance in linux only

Hello,

I have a weird issue that I have been trying to troubleshoot. In my server, thefootclan.game.nfoservers.com:27015, when I join using a linux client the performance is very choppy/laggy however, the performance is great when connecting with a windows client.

The really weird thing is that this only happens in my server. When I connect to other servers using a linux client the performance is perfect.

I am running at 100 tick and with RCBot2.

Any ideas on what I should check?

I've tried resetting my server.cfg to default, I've tried disabling all sourcemod plugins, and I've tried running the server at the standard tick rate and without bots.

That is a bit of a strange one. You could further trim the server back to match default to see if something else makes a difference, such as disabling all addons (Metamod included), set the default tickrate, default maps, and so on. Additionally, if there is another server there is another server that you have access to that is also working fine, you could compare the differences such as version/build numbers and configuration differences.

So, I figured out what was causing the performance problems... My MOTD. I had an animated gif in the MOTD web page and for some reason when I removed it all the issues went away like magic, lol. Just posting this for posterity. Thanks for your help guys!

Edit: I should mention that the animated gif was the NFO Servers referral button.

Alright, I am glad you got that figured out. And I will mention it to the other staff members about the animated donation link.

I believe that is meant for websites/forums. But either way I will make note of it.
