send the file via email to rentals@nfoe.net from your registered email (owners email you use to log into control panel) and can be added.

server specific questions should be emailed and you can be helped faster on issues such as this

Are you certain that changes to that file are propogated to the client?

researched this some more:
First off, you need an MP3, obviously. Take the MP3 and rename it "gamestartup.mp3". Place the MP3 into the following directory:

...\Half-Life\ModName\media\

When you load up your mod, it should play the MP3 you put into the media directory. You can also use this technique to change and customize the menu music of games like Counter-Strike, and the other official mods.
you trying to modify everyones file or just your own? If just your own, place the mp3 in the .....\day of defeat\dod\media\ folder not the server then. If for server, you would need to create a res file for that and have people download it, which you can see on the tutorials. Have you tried uploading this file to your media folder on your FTP?

Yes i want my clients to be dl it from the server instead of listening to the same old boring startup, i wanted to replace with another mp3. I looked into my site and i dont have a media folder, should i create one? If i did this would i put the res in the media folder just on the server or both on the server and the site?

Ok i did find a media folder. So i upload this mp3, rename it from orginal theme and create a res file. Now would this res file be attached to every single map or would it go under the media directory?

you need to create the res file which goes into the map folder on your FTP, not media

should look like media/gamestartup.mp3 in the res files, just keep resaving them as different res filenames, for each map.

as for site, sv_downloaurl site, you put the file there as well, in the same structure as the gameserver, thus you would need to make the media folder.

basically, but theres ways around having his replacing yours, like having it read only, and other things ;)

If i have it read only, will it just read it and no replace it entirely. Meaning it will play on only our servers but if they connect to outside servers it will play the orginal startup? If so how would i do that?

no, readonly would only be on the client side, and the mp3 can only be one name, thus there cant be more than one file of the same name in the same folder, wont work that way.

cant be done since theres only one startup mp3 thats linked to the game, and can only have one file of that name like above

you may be able to use a plugin to do it, just cant be done via the way above
