password protecting ftp folders

Ok so i was trying to protect my folder and i understand you have to create a
.htaccess and .htpasswd but i tried this using this generator

but it didnt work it protected the page but i couldnt login with the username blah password blah i made that was just a test pw and login name i tried that didnt work. i go to http://nba1341.nuclearfallout.net/asd and try to login but it is invalid? Please help me NFO.

um how come i cant see the .htaccess and .htpasswd files after creating this folder becuase i can't delete the folder

As quoted from the FAQ:

Because these files start with a period, you will not be able to see them in your FTP folder after you upload them.

i hashed it wright tried logging in on hashed and normal pw but not workin for me

Double check that the files are in the right directory and that you put everything in the files right. If it still doesn't work then someone with more expirence with it than me will have to help you since I haven't tried this myself enough times.
