Error "files on server differ from mine"

Post by GunnieSargeant »

I was told by some players on my server that they were getting an error message that said Dust 2 has different files on the server than they have on there computer. Possibly corrupted by something or someone. I notified Nick in the IRC channel and there looking into it, but I thought I'd make a post regarding it, since I heard its happening to other servers too.

I went to steam to validate my cache files just to make sure mine werent corrupt too.

All the other maps are fine with the exception of Dust2.

If you email us, we can run the generic repair script on your server to make sure it's running the latest copy of the map.

Nick already did, but it still messed up. I ended up removing Dust 2 from the cycle until it is resolved. The events recorded for my server says it was done at approx 1:30pm Feb 6th 2005.

Edge if you could check it out, I'd appreciate it.

I'll run some diagnostics to see if any of the base files are corrupted.

It would be best if you emailed us anyway. Then we can discuss this more in depth as necessary.

As far as I know, this problem has been fixed. de_dust2 was fully playable on that server last night at about 11:30pm PST.

Yes you can close this post now. Sorry I should have come back last night and posted that it was working.

Thanks.
