Yes, if the core speed were much higher, that would help. But, it won't be; they get that many cores by running them at very low speeds, in order to reduce power consumption and heat generation. They just can't run them faster and still fit that many on a die.
None of the games we run is very multithreaded, from what I've seen. I haven't seen much data on MW3.

Just briefly looking at a few of mine, looks as if MW3 will benefit from atleast 2 cores. Others seem to be parked for the most part. Having a heck of a time with ports though. If I'm running a CS server at the same time, even on say port 27030, it will try and use a different port.
