I recently bought a ArmA 2 CO server from NFOservers, and I upload all the mods that I want on the server. But when I start the server it give me these errors

I was wondering that if a staff member that knows how to install ACE and ACRE properly with no errors, can install this for me, or just tell me what is going on.

Please help!

Thanks

To start ACE correctly, please put the following startup paramters in your Arma2CO control panel startup parameter list (I guess you bought a single server instance, not a VDS (unamanaged/managed)).

-mod=@CBA_A2;@CBA_OA;@ACE;@ACEX;@ACEX_RU;@ACEX_USNavy;

Please note the order, this is important; CBA libraries have to be loaded before ACE library Add-Ons. I don't know which army objects you want to use (depends on your mission) you want, so I included as a standard RU and USNavy (@ACEX_RU;@ACEX_USNavy;).

Installing ACRE:
For this upload the @ACRE to your server via FTP into the server root folder (where all the other folders are, like your @ACE uploads). Now add the @ACRE load command to your startup parameter.

Your whole -mod= line should look like this now:
-mod=@CBA_A2;@CBA_OA;@ACE;@ACEX;@ACEX_RU;@ACEX_USNavy;@ACRE;

ACRE also needs to be installed on the clients and the TeamSpeak3 client, but this should be easy with the ACRE installer.

Oops, sorry missed the CBA core Add-On.
The startup parameters should look like this:

-mod=@CBA_A2;@CBA_OA;@CBA;@ACE;@ACEX;@ACEX_RU;@ACEX_USNavy;

and

-mod=@CBA_A2;@CBA_OA;@CBA;@ACE;@ACEX;@ACEX_RU;@ACEX_USNavy;@ACRE;

Ok I'm trying this now. Should I only remove and reupload the ACE and all ACEX files since those are the only mods giving me errors? I got other mods such as maps, but they are not giving me errors. So should I only do it with the ACE files?

Ok so now this is really making me mad with all these errors, my console is being spammed and giving more errors after I did what you told me.

You are missing to load the objects for units/vehicles Add-Ons, @ACEX_RU;@ACEX_USNavy; .

What mission are you trying to run?

Also, please post your server.cfg and where/how you uploaded the Add-On folders (screenshot please), they have to go into your server root folder and have to match the name you are trying to load in your startup parameters, meaning @ACE,.... .

The folder structure look fine, if there was no error during FTP upload (or wrong encoding), you should be good to go.

Test the server with one of the mission that come with ACE and see if it is working correctly with the startup paramters from the above posts.

Your server.cfg is also OK, though heavy on the custom side :D . If I may, I would recommend changing the following settings, unless you want to run the server this way. Also take a look at the BI suggestion for a server config under: http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/server.cfg

Suggested changes:
reportingIP = "arma2oapc.master.gamespy.com";
persistent = 1;
BattlEye = 1;
verifySignatures = 2;

The verifySignatures=2 and BattlEye=1 are quite important, as they help to secure the server.

After that, copy the bikeys from the loaded Add-Ons into your server keys folders, so that players can join your server. If you used PlayWithSix or a similar updater, look for the bikey files under @ACE\store\keys\ace_b579.bikey for example and copy the .bikey file into your SERVER_ROOT\Keys and SERVER_ROOT\Expansion\Keys folders.

Did you also test your mission customization and checked if it run on a local client?

Give this a test and let me know if the server works, or not.

Suggested changes:
reportingIP = "arma2oapc.master.gamespy.com";
persistent = 1;
BattlEye = 1;
verifySignatures = 2;

Ok that long error message is gone now I'm dealing with this

Code: Select all

You did not load the profile correctly (unless your profile is stored in a file named cfg). You can also omit the -name=server, your server is named in your server.cfg (IP and port are also not required, they are based on NFO settings).

Did you test your server with one of the default ACE missions that are packaged with ACE instead of your customized Insurgency mission?

You might also want to give FileZilla a try as a FTP client for uploading files.

Did you test your server with one of the default ACE missions that are packaged with ACE instead of your customized Insurgency mission?

You might also want to give FileZilla a try as a FTP client for uploading files.
I tested with a blank mission template with just 1 unit on the map, the server didnt start up and gave errors again.
I tried Filezilla and it just wont connect for some reason. It keeps showing this error.

Code: Select all

Trying to reconnect in 5 seconds
Reconnecting to server...
Connected, waiting for authentication
Protocol error: Unknown protocol identifier (0x50 0x50 0x48). Most likely connected to the wrong port.
Connection to server closed.

Re: ArmA 2 Ace and Acre Errors! I need help!

No, not a blank mission template. What you define in your CfgMission class is just a mission list.

Connect to your Arma 2 ACE server as a standard client and log in as a Server Admin (you have to set a server password of course in your server.cfg for this). From there, select one of the default ACE missions that ACE automatically provides.

Did you install the FileZilla server instance and not the client?

I got the server up thanks to you!

Solution:
What I did was wiped my server and redid what you told me in order. Installed CBA mods first and added them in the Mod Parameters, then started the server. Once it booted up successfully, I then installed the Ace/Acre mods and other mods I require on my server and added the mods on the mod parameters and started the server and it works.

Thanks
