MySQL Folders becoming inaccessible on SSD Partition

Post by vect0r »

Anyone run into this in the past?

I have a 40GB SSD partition, and I have my MySQL databases being stored there. However around 4:30am PST some of the folders became inaccessible and MySQL seemed to .. kind of hang.

I say kind of because some MySQL databases seemed to work fine, others not so much. The busiest site hosted on the server in question was forwarding to the Wordpress install and had hundreds of people trying to re-install the wordpress install which forced me to restore from a backup.

The strange thing is - MySQL was able to write the new settings and the "Hello World" posts to the database but for some reason was unable to read from the config stored in the database.

Also may be related but not 100% sure yet, I did start an R1Soft backup about 30 minutes before it initially went down.. so I'll have to test that.

Any insight would be great.

You can probably ignore this.

It is related specifically to R1Soft's MySQL module.. not sure why there's an issue on this server but I'll have to look into it..
