Finding what a gamemode is called

So i recently got a server and i downloaded all of my stream apps that i need and when i change my game mode to murder it runs and works fine, but i try and change the game mode to prophunt and it doesn't work. I'm thinking that is doesn't work because the name of the file isnt prophunt and its something different. And its not in the garrysmod/gamemodes and neither is murder but murder still runs. so pretty much after this long winded message what i need to know is after i download a game mode where does it go?

You need to download the gamemode then put the folder into garrysmod/gamemodes

i didnt need to do that for murder, but ill try it

didnt work still. does it mean anything that it just goes on sandbox? or is that just because if there is no gamemode it defaults to that

Try changing the game mode in your server.cfg

the gamemode is set to what i typed in, the problem i need fixing is where to find the name of it.... Murder works fine but this shit is soooo frustrating. I need actual help besides the bull shit i can find from other posts, trust me ive looked

did you download the gamemode from steam workshop? or another source

go to your local GMOD root and find garrysmod/garrysmod/addons. Look around in the addons for the gamemode file

I've downloaded the file myself and extracted it. The filename is called "prop_hunt". Try adding that name in

so do i go to the git hub link to get it? then extract it to my desktop and move it to the gamemodes folder for my server?
