Hi all, I am currently trying to set up a Linux (Debian 7) L4D2 server on my Linux virtual server. However, I've been running into the error: "Error! App '222860' state is 0x402 after update job." everytime when I try to download an app. Following is a full list of commands that I entered after connecting via Putty:
apt-get install screen
adduser l4d2
su - l4d2
wget http://media.steampowered.com/client/st ... nux.tar.gz
tar -xvzf steamcmd_linux.tar.gz
./steamcmd.sh
login anonymous
force_install_dir /home/l4d2/server
app_update 222860 validate
Any help that you folks can provide on this issue is much appreciated!

Does /home/l4d2 exist? In my experience the home folder doesn't get created sometimes when you add a user.

I've managed to finish the installation. I simply did app_update again whenever the error pops up and it resumes where it left off. Took about 4 more tries and after about 2 hours the update finished.
