need help with 8 core vds and dayz epoch servers
So ive set up 3 dayz servers 2 overpoch and 1 epoch and im having some major issues and my players are getting upset. Im willing to pay somone a very good price. To help me get it All fixed as I am frustrated and the internet is not telling me what I need to know. I need somone who knows the proper way to set them up. Who knows all the tweeks. All these servers were in the top 100 on gametracker before switching from gtx. To nfo and I cant seem to get the bugs out. Im sure its somthing that most peopke who run these know.

What kind of issues are you specifically having?

Mem errors. Low preformance connection issues after about 1 1/2 hr runtime.
Re: need help with 8 core vds and dayz epoch servers
Can you define what you mean my memory errors? Also has this always been a problem after X amount of uptime or did this just recently start? What does CPU/ram usage look on your VDS during these periods of lag?

Re: need help with 8 core vds and dayz epoch servers
Mems about 4 gigs and cpus at about 60-70 depending on amount of players also I may have fixed it by changing arma 2 oa versions. Ill let you know. Also is it possable to upgrade cpu and still keep all the stuff om my harddrives?
Re: need help with 8 core vds and dayz epoch servers
Yes, you can upgrade your VDS package on the order page and you will not lose any data.

Re: need help with 8 core vds and dayz epoch servers
Has anyone used TCPOptimizer on there vds? Seems like about after 40 people get on the servers no more can get in and very long loadtime untill they get kicked. Ive upgraded to the 12 core vds and cpu usage is now 30-40.
Re: need help with 8 core vds and dayz epoch servers
The benefit of using it would be limited when it comes to game servers, since they all use UDP(generally). I know that DayZ uses TCP when communicating with the hive, but the performance benefit was doing so would be extremely minimal.motomonster wrote:Has anyone used TCPOptimizer on there vds? Re: need help with 8 core vds and dayz epoch servers
If you're up at the 12-core level already, you should consider a full dedicated machine as your next step. Generally a core on a dedicated machine will be a bit faster than on a VDS because of the small virtualization overhead -- maybe 5-10% faster, though it could be lower or higher with certain workloads. That isn't a lot, but sometimes it can make the difference.

Do you guys even rent dedicated servers? All I see is the vds I really like the 24/7 customer suport you guys offer. It is truly world class.

Re: need help with 8 core vds and dayz epoch servers
Ive found them. The price seems acceptable I just wouldent want to lose all my data on the hd I use now or lose my ips because these are ranked servers. Or have any extended downtime. But in theory the 12 threads im on now should be able to handle 2 55 slot servers and a 40 slot full. I know you guys dont natively host dayz servers. But maybe I just dont have somthing tweeked right maybe my basic.cfg needs a little work.
Re: need help with 8 core vds and dayz epoch servers
With the Arma series being multithreaded they actually run very well on VDS's. Only when you start maxing out the capability of that system will you start seeing issues. As long as you are keeping peak CPU usage below 50% you're generally ok(and as long as one server is topping out in general).motomonster wrote:Ive found them. With your numbers it doesn't look like you are doing that. So a dedicated machine may provide that extra kick you need. Getting the files transferred would be easy and it's something you could do since you would be able to utilize the connection speeds of both servers. Moving the IPs also shouldn't be an issue, but you'd need to work out a special time with us to do that so it's seamless.
Though, we can sure continue checking over parts of your server as we don't want you spending any money that you don't have to. Do post your configs and let us take a look at them.

Re: need help with 8 core vds and dayz epoch servers
i run the same one for all 3 servers we have very little desync it just seems like we just cant fill them after about 40 people noone ealse can get in. cpu useage has stayed well below 50% sence upgrading.
