Can't stark server.

Post by Sen »

My server is stuck on "booting from harddisk" after Debian 7 install crashed half way through and restarted the machine.

You will likely need to start the installation over. It is unlikely that the hard drive is bootable at this point, since that is done at the end of the setup.

I recommend using our installer, since it just puts the standard Debian install on for you. There isn't a notable advantage to installing by hand.

You have me confused. If you have important files on a Windows 2008 installation, why are you trying to install Debian 7?

Installing any new OS on top of your old one will erase the old data.

If you were installing debian on Virtual disk then, does that mean your virtual disk crashed, as opposed to your HDD?
