Hello everyone, was looking for help on setting up a Minecraft VDS server. My group and I have spent a few hours trying to figure this out as we are beginners to VDS servers. Our main question where do we find the server port for the VDS? We have purchased four IP's address on for the VDS and are using one for Minecraft. When using anyway of the IP addresses, we get this error when trying to connect to the Minecraft server (java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: no further information:)
*Does Minecraft Server not support JAVA 8? We currently are using JAVA 8 but can downgrade to JAVA 7 if that is the problem.

It sounds like a configuration problem. It is very hard to pinpoint the problem without seeing it in person. Remember to specify the server ip that you want to use in server.properties. Also remember to allow TCP port 25565 through your os's firewall. The java version shouldn't matter but make sure your minecraft server is up to date and configured correctly.
