HOW DO YOU DOWNLOAD MAPS INTO THE REDIRECT?

I am running UT 2004 in my server and I need to install new maps to the redirect. Can any one help?

Are you using your free webspace for the redirect, or a third-party public redirect service? If you're using our webspace for the redirect, it's just a matter of uploading the compressed files to the site. If you're using someone else, you'd have to submit them to that site.

yes I am using the free web space. The map needs to be compressed first correct? And then were do you up load it to. I have lloked for on line instruction have not seen any. As you can guess I am a super noob at this.
But I am sure it cant be hard once I know the basics.

Ok I found a free tool just for UT 2004 that makes crompressing easy.
If anyone else is reading this and is interested you can find it here.

It looks like the maps you can download from UT 2004 maps are already compressed and ready to go. http://ut2004maps.com
So ok say now I have a compressed map now what? Where do I insert it so it will download to people coming into the room? I see a lot of different places it could go.

Wait, are you asking about redirection, or just custom maps in general?

I am trying to add UT 2004 maps to the redirect that I am getting from the UT 2004 maps site. After I down load them I have drag and droped them into map folder and also into the website folder and then I put it into the map rotation in the admin area. When I try to vote for this map while playing and it starts to download I get a connection failure.

Just to clarify, you've already gotten these maps to work with the redirect off?

I have a redirest from your website so I am not sure what you mean with redirect off. But I have not gotton them to work at all. I see a lot of folders on the ftp. Map folder has maps of coarse and the sytem folder also has some which strange to me. The I see a folder for the website that has maps and a few mods. My problem is, is my ADMIN left and now I need to know how he did it. Do I need to put the map into all these folders?

You just need to put the files onto the webserver in the same spots you put them on the game server.

Hey I finally got it figured out and its working well. If anyone is reading this and needs me to write out so that a super noob would understand let me know and I will be happy to. This is for UT 2004.
