My VPS cannot resolve a hostname

I have an extremely strange problem with my teamspeak server i am hosting on a VDS. I submitted a ticket already but we couldn't figure it out, so I'll just post important parts of conversation in here, any help is appreciated.

Problem: I am not trying to ping my teamspeak server. I recently qualified for a server upgrade from teamspeak which allows me to put in a license and have more slots on my teamspeak server. So in essence my teamspeak server needs to be able to connect with accounting.teamspeak.com in order to verify the key of my teamspeak server (which allows more than the default 32 slots.) When i ping accounting.teamspeak.com on my VDS it points to 127.0.0.1 for some unknown reason. Teamspeak support says that it is a problem on my end that my server can't reach their server.

Are you able to ping any other sites/domains? Does they also come back as 127.0.0.1?

I am able to, which is really weird. All other websites i have tried have come back with correct IPs. Also the port the server needs to be open in 2008, but i haven't messed with any port restrictions and from what i understand they are all open by default on VDSs.

Have you tried specifying an IP address for it to use when it runs? If not, you might try that first.

Also make sure that you have any in-OS firewall disabled, and the Firewall page cleared out (at least temporarily).
