I'm interested in starting a 24/7 livestream for Youtube. I have some decent experience with server management, but I've never used a VDS. The idea is to use the stream as a tool for social networking in the music community with an independent label. I'm going to use OBS for the stream and I'm going to update the server with files, queuing up new tracks and swapping them around.
My question is mostly about Virtual Dedicated Servers, with them, can I access a remote desktop environment and configure the stream that way? My goal is to be able to configure the stream in a similar way to how I would on my own desktop. I know both Linux and Windows should work fine for this task.
Thanks in advance. I'm a noob with this stuff.

Re: VDS for 24/7 OBS video streaming?
On a Windows VDS, you would be able to access the system remotely using Windows' native Remote Desktop Connection. This would look and feel just like accessing a Windows PC that's right in front of you. For Linux, remote management is typically done via Secure Shell (SSH). This would be console based, where commands are typed into a console window for management of the system. Windows is certainly the most user-friendly option.

That's helpful info. Much appreciated.
