So... As the title states, my Debian 8 server has crashed because the "bin" directory was moved (Hand twitch while using FileZilla) to the "root" directory. On the NFO support page, I was told to check forums or do a backup and reinstall following this: viewtopic.php?f=46&t=10584.
I was following that but then I realized it would be a lot easier if I was able to just move the "bin" directory back to the "/" directory from "install-amd64-minimal-20140724.iso" instead of backing up and reinstalling. I don't even know if that is possible, so, could anyone help me out here?

That should be possible.
After completing the steps in the guide, move the "bin" folder back through SFTP (through the guide, you would have the old drive mounted in /mnt/recover). Then, reboot the VDS.
