My server just friggen lagged out and is at like 7000 latency.

I have never had lag once in the month I've had this server and it just lagged out. I have a hybrid Los Angeles server.

What Gives?

Now it says the machine is down.

Do you know when it will be fixed?

This is the message we have posted to every LA customer's Events tab:

We experienced a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack in LA today. The effects of this attack were felt from approximately 4:52pm to 5:04pm PST, when we blocked the malicious traffic at our router. During that period, your server may have appeared offline or you may have experienced excessive latencies.
