New Server, NEED HELP setting it up!

Post by JayL0c »

Hello, I just subscribed to a CSS server last night. I use to have a server through NFO, with regular CS. I was wondering what the diffrence was between AMXmod, and AMXmodX or are they the same thing. I thought I had selected to have AMXmod, to be install on the server, but it didn't.

"Q: What if I didn't order it -- how do I get it?
A: You can install AMXmodx on your server using the easy setup tab under the Additional plugins section and clicking add plugins"

I didn't see such a tab, I might be blind. Where would I get AMXmodx v1.01, or could NFO install it for me?

How can I get an Anti-cheat program put on the server as well?

I went to the website, that was in FAQ's for plugins, http://amxmodx.org/compiler.php, to find some plugins to DL, but under the mod window, I didn't see any Counter Strike Source, just CS. Are they interchangeale? Anyone know of a diffrent website?

Thanks for your patience and help, gents

Amxmodx is not available for CS:Source. The closest plugin to Amxmodx would be Mani which you can view here.

It is a pretty easy install, when finished uploading, make sure you add two lines to your autoexec.cfg using file manager at the top, log 1 and map de_dust2. If you run into any trouble, contact us on either network explained in the IRC support topic or email us at rentals@nuclearfallout.net.

There is no anti cheat plugins available for Source at this time. Best place to look for Source plugins would be on the sourcemod.net forums here.

Nick | NFo,
Thanks for the help. I think I need some help loading MANI, I thought I loaded everything correctly, but I don't think MANI is working.

I DL MANI from the website, and I accessed the following link, to help load the files http://rentalforums.nuclearfallout.net/ ... php?t=1994

I used SmartFTP v1.1, to upload the files. I created the sub folders under materials/cstrike/ and put everything where it belonged. I then added my steam id, at the bottom of the adminlist.txt file. Which is located materials\cstrike\cfg\mani_admin_plugin\adminlist.txt

The adminlist.text file's last few lines look like this:

//
// in your config.cfg file in your client installation.
//
//

STEAM_0:1:1188656

Did I do this correctly? I know you have to resart the server/change map, for the updates to take effect. I typed status, in my console, would it say who are the admins? Is there a MANI menu through console? If so, what would be the command?

We are using the rcon password thru HLSW, right now. So we have some control of the server, from this program. We just don't have any in server

Also, in the above link, it refers to a file cstrike\maps\de_dust.res, but I didn't see one in the Mani zip I DL. Do I need this? If so, where can I get it?

Thanks again, for your help.

It shouldn't be in that directory, when you download and extract manimod, it puts itself into a folder labeled: cstrike.
When you open your FTP, you are looking at the the /cstrike folder of your server. Open the cstrike folder on your computer and drag all of the contents directly in to SmartFTP (drag/drop it into the right-side window).

when I open SmartFTP, it doesn't have a folder that says cstrike.
The following folders are on the server bountyhunters.nuclearfallout.net:

bin
cfg
downloadlists
downloads
logs
maps
materials
models
resource
SAVE
scripts
sound

There is a cstrike folder in the materials folder. Thats where I put everything the first time.

I am assuming the whole thing,bountyhunters.nuclearfallout.net, isacting as the cstrike folder.

Anyhow, It won't let me slide the files over, I have to upload them directly, but then it won't let me upload the entier folder, just the files one by one. Do I need to create folders, and then add the files accordily?

Thanks again

when you enter the FTP, you are currently looking at the cstrike directory

it goes like cstrike/bin, cstrike/cfg, etc..

Just place the files for mani in the first section you see when entering FTP, the addons folder should be added right next to bin folder.

So I should make an addon folder, and just put all the files in the pertaining places?

Do i have to add a mani_admin_plugin folder, under the cfg folder?

If you upload all the folders as they come in the zip, extracted, they will fall into the right places.

addons will be created when you upload the addons folder to the main directory of your FTP.

If you want to do it all manually, create an addons folder and then put the vdf and dll, the files needed in there. Then go to cfg and put mani_server.cfg and the mani_admin_plugin folder into the cfg folder. Sounds go into their respective places.

If you need further help, it may be faster if you come into IRC, check the topic at the top of this forum, and connect to quakenet or gamesurge. Quakenet should be working for you most likely.

check your cfg/autoexec.cfg, you are probably missing a line needed for the server to start up

it needs this at the top, then go stop, then start in server control.

Code: Select all

log 1
map de_dust2

sweet! server is back up.

I went ahead and just dropped the Mani.zip and everything was put into place, but I can't seem to find the adminlist.txt. It should be under cfg/mani_admin_plugin folder, but one doesn't exsist. Do I have to install that one manually?

Im off to work, I will play around with the server, later tonight. What are the hours for support?

Im not to familar with IRC, I clicked on the link, and the web browser, said it wasn't responding.

As you can tell, I don't know much about computer language.

Thanks again for your patience and help. A + service, and patience.

Yes, it should be in cfg/mani_admin_plugin, looks like all the files were not uploaded.

It should look like cfg/mani_admin_plugin/adminlist.txt in your file manager if properly uploaded.

We are on IRC until 1AM PT usually and back in there around 8AM PT, give or take some.

Seems you uploaded some of the files, not all. Not exactly sure, best to contact us on IRC so we can get your info and go about fixing any issues.
