Map problems.

Post by Eagle{1} »

I downloaded a few new maps to my server and I cant get them to work. I downloaded them thru the FTP file like ur tuturial said. I know I did it right, because some of them work and some dont. The maps that dont are......
fy_snow_final.bsp
fy_fastreaction.bsp
aim_scoutz.bsp
aim_ak-colt-deluxe.bsp
aim_assault.bsp

when I go in the game site I get the Bad file map error, when I try to change to them. If you could help, I would appreciate it.

silenceall.nuclearfallout.net is me server.

Thanks Eagle.

You uploaded the map files to the main directory, not to maps folder. All bsp files need to go into the maps folder to be ran by the server when you change to it. Wad files go into the main directory and any sound/sprite/models go into their own directory respectively according to the structure of the map download you have.

I moved the maps from your main directory to maps so it should work now.

Thanks for that. I went into the server and attempted to change to a couple of the maps and the server timed out then crashed. What can I do to fix that.

Thanks Eagle

I checked your logs (FTP /logs/ directory) and found this error:

Code: Select all

L 06/09/2005 - 14:32:14: FATAL ERROR (shutting down): Mod_LoadBrushModel: maps/aim_scoutz.bsp has wrong version number (1347633750 should be 30)
I uploaded a copy that I downloaded and it worked fine. Make sure you do not use any CS:S maps and that you upload the maps fully. Those are common errors with the bsp not loading properly. Your bsp file was approx 4 times bigger than mine, not sure where you got that one.
