Web Server Session Save Path

Hello! We are running a Joomla installation on our web server and would like to know how to set up a session save path for PHP.

Currently there is no php Session Save Path defined by php.ini
I found this LINK which describes some ways to circumvent the issue if php.ini is unable to be changed.

Please let me know if a session save path can be created from your end, and if not, which method I should be able to use to alleviate this issue.
