I have a few questions about you dedicated servers.
Im curious as to why you chose Gentoo would it be possible to have a open suse loaded on it.
Are fire walls installed on the windows or linux servers before they are shipped,I would hate to install a firewall remotely and lock myself out. and finally does the gentoo server have a gui installed?
thanks in advance

Gentoo is easy to use, well-documented, I'm very familiar with it, and we have prepped hard drives with it ready to go, so it's quick to deploy.

Maybe, but it would take additional time to set up.

They don't come with firewalls installed, no. Firewalls are not generally needed for well-secured servers.

It does not come with one, but you could install one afterwards if you'd like. I would recommend just sticking with the command line, though -- for game servers, it's the best way to go.

Re: Pre sales dedicated server
Do you auto update dedicated servers and can we use your CP on them? How many 32 slot servers can fit on one of the level 1 dedicated, im guessing 1 per core?
Re: Pre sales dedicated server
After we hand them off to the customer, we let him or her handle the software from there on out.DontWannaName wrote:Do you auto update dedicated servers
Our CP is not available for these (http://www.nfoservers.com/forums/viewto ... =35&t=3701)and can we use your CP on them?
It should be at least one per core but exactly how many beyond that depends on how full the servers are, their types, and how they are configured. How many 32 slot servers can fit on one of the level 1 dedicated, im guessing 1 per core?

Re: Pre sales dedicated server
Any chance San Jose can be added to the dedicated server availability list

Re: Pre sales dedicated server
Right now we are out of power in SJ. If we see a strong demand there, we could order more power and start offering dedicated servers at this location.
