Problem installing Psychostats

Hi there,

I'm having a bit of trouble installing Psychostats 3.1 on the web server we host. I've narrowed it down to being an issue with the server because it installed fine on another web server I rent.

The problem is at the very first stage of install - it doesn't collect the server information. I searched on the PS forum and this is the line the Admin gave - "If your server is running PHP as CGI PsychoStats won't work."

Could anyone tell me if this is the case?

It could be technically installed on our main webhosting (since we have everything in place to support it), but it's not allowed by our TOS. Are you trying to run this on a dedicated server/VPS?

It actually does work fine if run as CGI; I know this because we run it as CGI on our dedicated stats machines. Our hosted websites run PHP through mod_php.

I wasn't aware there was anything against running PS on your web hosting? Which term does it break? I only wanted to install on the main webhosting because it's a bit easier than running it on the dedi though I'll have to re-think our options now.

It duplicates a service we provide and often requires script execution longer than 60 seconds. But, I have seen others run it anyway.

A little strange... PS 3.1 is a pain but 3.08 works perfectly.

Their support forum is really poor aswell which is a shame. This place is a credit to you guys.

Stormtrooper does PsychoStats in his spare time and unfortunately doesn't have as much time for it nowadays. Its community has also dwindled as the games it supports have gotten less popular and HLStatsX has risen in popularity.
