Server lags (all of them) and a problem with CSDM

Post by spicydoritos »

So after the dedibox has been running for about one day all the servers get laggy... (the ping starts to spike).

All the servers are at %10 CPU usage and using about 1.95 GB of the memory out of 16 GB. (I checked this in the task manager performance tab).

All the rates on each server is the same (default).

I was thinking that the server lag could be coming from the rates not being set correctly? I never fiddled with cs1.6 server rates before so I don't really have any idea what I'm doing

Should I try adjusting the rates? or could this be a problem with something else? Like server plugins?

The other problem I'm having is... the CSDM server keeps repeating the current map it is on, even if I have the mapcycle.txt filled with maps... (5 maps) it seems to only be happening when CSDM is on.

Are you running srcdsfpsboost.exe? If you don't, servers run at 64fps, which most people consider to be laggy.

Are you using the default server configurations that we provide? Those should have good rate settings included already.

On your CSDM server, it sounds like you might be running a plugin that is limiting the mapcycle separately from the game. You may need to find the file that it's using for this and change it (or delete it).

CSDM has it's own map file I believe, and it goes on that. Check your amxmodx/configs folder for it.

Yeah, I'm running the srdcsfpsbooster.exe.

I'm also using the default server settings you provided I lowered sys_ticrate on some of the servers that we only wanted 500 fps on. I realized that after I lowered it.. the server was less laggy.

Checked that before with the CSDM, but will try again.

Some plugins are configured to process every frame, which can cause major overhead if the server FPS is high. This might be what you ran into here.
