Blocking Proxies

Post by dillmc7743 »

Would there be any way to get it so that it traces back to detect that the user is using a proxy to gain access to my site, where have some problems with spammers. I know there's some ways to do it but it would require it be be configured on the server its self. But is there some epic script that will trace back to check?

Not that I know of, for free.

If you are having trouble with automatic spambots, and this is a forum, one thing that you might try is changing the registration form so that it has an extra field that they wouldn't expect (asking to do some simple multiplication or choose that they're not a bot). phpBB3 is one board that allows this to be easily set.
