HLStats plugin loading

Post by smeikle »

I noticed HLStats still wasn't included in the Autoinstaller so I am making a quick run through for anyone who may be interested in adding the functionality themselves (great learning experience for those who want to have full control of their server)

Note: Make sure your server is stopped before proceeding.

1: Go to your server control panel.
2: Click the "Stats Manager" tab.
3: Click the "What FTP information can I use to edit the stats files?" link. Make a note of that information.
4: Using your preferred FTP client, connect to the stats FTP site using the information from the previous step.
5: Locate the file named "Sourcemod" and download it to a location on your hard drive.
6: Once it is finished, connect to your game server and upload that sourcemod file to the proper section of your site. "Cstrike>addons"

Those steps will install the plugin to your server. The next step is to log into the admin section of you HLStats site to ensure that the settings are all correct. I changed the Rcon password on my servers, so I had to update that information on the HLStats site as well.

Once all changes are done start your server and test it out!

There was a HLStatsX installer for CS:S servers before the OB switchover but I have not yet had time to update it for OB. I expect to be able to do it soon (and at the same time, update our HLStatsX base install version.. they constantly come out with new releases).

Since this question is within the boundaries of loading, I will ask it here instead of throwing up another topic.

Is it possible to set up HLStats to do the following:

Track each server differently + all servers at once?

What I mean is this:

Server 1 - Tracked separate
Server 2 - Tracked separate
Server 3 - Tracked separate
Server 4 - Tracked separate

AND

Server 1-4 Tracked as a whole

I know that 1-4 is easy to do, just add to gameserver. Its tracking them all as a whole (at the same time) where I am stumped. Is this possible?

**

I had an idea of adding HLstats to each, and then create a 5th small 4 slot "dead" server in which I could use to track server 1-4, would this be a quicker viable option?

If you'd like to track them all together, you should be able to do that by logging in to the HLStatsX installation as the administrator and manually putting in the additional servers that need to be combined into the same database. You'll also need to configure the servers to all send logs to the same port that the primary one's HLStatsX installation is using.

Yeah, got that part down already, but what I wanted to do was track each server separately (each one with its own database) and then one community wide stats that tracks all servers as a whole as well.

I am thinking that my little workaround may be the quickest and easiest method. Create a 4 slot dummy server with stats and add all servers onto the dummy database.

Agreed, that is probably the best way to go.

Hello Guys . .
Have a good Day! ! !
We recently set up HLStatsX CE on our gameserver last night.. . .
We have the stats going to a separate physical server.
The stats are being transferred and posted on the site and the site records kills, etc. We haven't had it running long enough to see if awards work and the like.

Thanks for that info. .
Ive learned lot of things about this topic. .
