Need help setting up forums and home page.

So, I've been trying to set up a forum and homepage, and whilst doing that I tried to forward my domain to the webpage, screwing quite a bit up.

I want to set up a homepage, that has nothing but 2 entrances. One to the forum, and another to a video page. I set the forums up at worldrandom.hosted.nfoservers.com/forums/ , but when people go to the original page (Same, but with the forum part), it gives them the directory.

I need someone to walk me through and help me with the following:

1. Making the main page an actual page instead of a directory (I can do the rest for that page myself)

2. Walk me through how to correctly attach my godaddy domain (Worldrandom.net) to my nfo hosted website, so when people go to worldrandom.net, it takes them to the homepage.


Also, I'd like to know if I could somehow change the url to the forums from "worldrandom.hosted.nfoservers.com/forums/ -TO- worldrandom.net/forums/

One quick and easy way to do this would be to create a very basic placeholder index.html file and upload it the folder containing "forums" (most likely, "public"). You can create this index.html in any text editor or WYSIWYG HTML editor -- even Word can save to HTML, if you need something quick and dirty.

2. Walk me through how to correctly attach my godaddy domain (Worldrandom.net) to my nfo hosted website, so when people go to worldrandom.net, it takes them to the homepage.

1. You'll need to enter our nameservers into your Godaddy gontrol panel. The option you need is "I have specific nameservers for my domains" as mentioned in their KB article here: http://help.godaddy.com/article/664. The nameservers need to be set to "NS1.NFOSERVERS.COM" and "NS2.NFOSERVERS.COM"
2. You'll need to add your domain through the "Domains" page in your control panel here. It'll check the nameserver entries when you do this, and sometimes the registrar doesn't change them immediately, so you may have to wait and do it a bit later if it fails.

Also, I'd like to know if I could somehow change the url to the forums from "worldrandom.hosted.nfoservers.com/forums/ -TO- worldrandom.net/forums/

When you add your worldrandom.net domain through the Domains page, that URL should automatically work. However, you'll also want to go into forum's administration pages and adjust its preferred domain there; otherwise, it will redirect people back to our provided subdomain. In phpbb, the option can be found from Server Configuration->Server Settings, located on the left-hand side of the Administration Control Panel; after clicking this, look for "Domain name:" on the right.
