Virtual Audio Device

Post by Peep »

I recently switched from Ubuntu to Server 2008, and Ubuntu would detect a sound card and I would use this to run a music bot through TeamSpeak 3. However, Server 2008 does not detect any sort of sound card at all making it impossible to do.

Is there any way I can setup a possible virtual sound card on the system to make my old setup work again?

I haven't been able to get it an emulated sound card to work in Windows, but if you were seeing one in Ubuntu, it's possible that you could configure it by adding the driver manually (it's also possible that Ubuntu emulated one itself). Were you seeing a SB16?

I'm not sure what Ubuntu was showing as it's audio device unfortunately, it just worked without any configuration at all so I went with it.
