I realize that it's ridiculous that I'm playing a free trial game, even more so that I want to pay for a server for it. I'll get to justifications later. If you don't mind, just go with me.
Here's my situation: I want to set up a server on NFO for Halo trial, but there is not currently any dedicated server software set up for it. There is dedicated server software of halo, and for halo custom edition, but not for trial.
Here's my question: Is there any way to run the actual halo trial game on a virtual machine, considering its requirement for 3d graphics? I don't need to to actually perform well, just to be able to open and run it, and act as the host. All management for the server would be done through some software made by some halo trial enthusiasts, but this only manipulates the game through a console that is available when the game is actually open.
I think my ultimate question is going to be: Is there any way for me to run halo trial, and the third party software to manage it in acting as a server, on NFO short of purchasing a full machine?
[If you care why I'm so set on halo trial and not the cheaply purchased full version or free custom edition, it's because there is a very unique, small, and relatively closeknit community in halo trial that can't really be found anywhere else. It's a unique gaming environment that I'm willing to pay to keep]

Re: Halo (trial)
I don't believe that it would be possible at this time. Xen can't emulate a real 3D accelerator card, and Windows can't do it either.
Microsoft originally planned for Windows 2008 R2 to be able to remotely pass through hooks to the 3D accelerator of a client connected via Remote Desktop, and this also might have made it possible, but they backed off from that plan before the OS release.
