Problem with new Subscription [PayPal]

Post by ShuffleScape »

Hello,

I'm trying to add a new subscription (new method of payment on my control panel) and it says like "Click here to configure PayPal with this". So I click on "here" and it asks me to add in another credit card, which I can't do.

Is there anyway to do that without adding another credit card ? I just wanna pay my next subscription with my PayPal money only.

Thanks
Sim

I think the problem is your paypal account shipping address is not verified. Some businesses won't accept payment unless the address is verified.

You can get the address verified without linking credit/debt card, you will have to call paypal and ask them what you need to fax them to get it verified. (usually they ask for a bill with your name and address on it and copy of drivers license)

I have been able to start up services with NFO in the past with my paypal and it doesn't have a credit/debt card linked to it.

Sim is likely right that Paypal is requiring that you verify. They aren't doing this because we asked them to, though; we don't ask for a shipping address, and we don't put any other restrictions on the billing agreement.

If all else fails, you could also attach a prepaid debit/credit card, either directly to your account here or to Paypal. You could then "Donate" to yourself each month so that the system doesn't need to touch that prepaid card -- if all the funds are in your coffer here, the system won't need to. Prepaid cards can be bought from most supermarkets, convenience stores, and banks.

Can I donate to myself with my PayPal on here ?
This would be the only thing to do since I can't buy prepaid card every months. I have enough on my PayPal.

Or I could just pay you with my PayPal ? Like you could tell me your PayPal Email and I'd send it. Please.

Thanks.

Many prepaid cards don't expire after a month. As long as you continue to donate to yourself with Paypal, the amount on the prepaid card would not be used and you wouldn't need to get another.

Sending manual payments to our Paypal account will not work and the funds would be returned, all payments must go through the system here (the Payments page in the control panel or our donation page at https://www.nfoservers.com/donate.pl).

So, I just go to https://www.nfoservers.com/donate.pl and donate to myself with my PayPal ? Can I do that ?

And is there a way for it to not ask to add another credit card ?
I wanna pay my next month and it's coming very soon. Please, help me :P

You can do that and payments will use those funds first, but you will still need a primary payment source attached to the subscription in the form of a Paypal or credit/debit/prepaid card attached. Subscriptions can't be active without a primary payment source.

Ok so can I just let my credit card there and pay with sending myself donating then ? Will this work ?

Thanks

Yes, that's correct. If you have enough money to cover the subscription in your coffer each month, the system won't have to use the credit card at all.

Okay.
But when I donate to myself, where does the money go ? How can I use it after it's sent ?

Thank you so much.

The funds go to a donations coffer tied to your account. Any funds in the coffer are always used up first automatically for any payments made to us.

Ok now I donated to myself $31.98 because my VPS cost $29.99 with $1.99 so it's $31.98?
And now I just need to wait till the day it pays and it will pay by itself ?

Thanks.

Yes, that sounds right to me. As long as the funds show up as being in your coffer on the "Payments" page, they will be applied to any payments you make.

Ok thanks.

So, can I deactive my subscription with my credit card or I let it active and it'll pay itself with the $31.98 I sent me as a donation to pay for my VPS ?

You'll need to keep that subscription open for any automatic payment to be made, even one that comes exclusively from your coffer. If you want to stop automatic payments and trigger them manually later when your server's paid time is about to expire, you could also do that.
