Halo Custom Edition v1.00 Issues

Post by kolt »

Ok, I have 5 halo servers installed on my VDS and 1 Minecraft Beta Server.
The minecraft server is fine. But the haloce server somehow just goes down after
being on for a few hours. I have 5 Installed and only run 2 at once. All use different ports and are all connectable once up. I have sappv3 (Server Apps)[MOD] for haloce installed. Maybe that has something to do with it? But I don't know.

I start the haloce servers, both remain up for about 5 hours.
After 5 hours, everyone immediately gets: Game has closed down!
There is no icon at the bottom right of the screen saying maybe one lagged out or anything. It just happens. But then no one can reconnect to it. I open up the server in remote desktop to find the console sitting there. Not frozen and if I type in: sv_players, I would normally get a list of players and their player #. But it tells me: [sv_players is a server-only Function!].

I have only tried Windows 08 x64 & Windows 08 x64 R2 with the same results for each. I did try windows 03 but it was kinda slow and sluggish.
My current OS is: win 08 R2 x64.

Any ideas on anything that might be causing this?
I would give you the link to the haloceded mod but it seems as if the maker forgot to pay his server rent again. Lol.
Anyways, its: http://xxhalo.co.cc

But it just asks you to register the domain so its down.
I have not tried it without running the plugin. But at GameServers I never had this problem with sapp. The mod worked fine there. But they begun blocking the editing of the .exe's. Which we have to patch in order for it to work. So we left them for this service. I honestly like it better as I have more control over everything. I just can't get this haloceded server to stay online. Any suggestions?
I think it might just be a compatibility issue. I have ran the server on my comp before with no issues.

Help someone. :?: :(

It could be a compatibility issue between the OS and the mod injector, as you said, or a general bug in the game/mod, but it's difficult to say. Does the server also crash like this when the mod is not in use? Have you also tried Gandanur (which fixes many bugs)?

Actually, When I type in the console: unload
The server crashes. Reason being is because the mod is responsible for afk timers, ping kick and stuff like that. So if the plugin is disabled, I guess it leads to a crash. Nah, I haven't tried using gandanur. I am also wondering if I can run sapp and gandanur at the same time... I like gandanur but aswell the functionality as sapp.

With sapp I can enable stuff as no falling damage and infinite ammo. As well as some admin fun when Im bored.

Oh yeah, my main use for sapp is to get the server from v1.00.09.0620 to v1.00.00.0609. I don't use haloceded.exe v1.00 as someone can use GUI Loop and crash it. So haloceded.exe itself is on v1.09. But sapp emulates it back to v1.00.00. Lol. Cause when the server boots up, I have it load v1. (v1.00.00.0609). As well as when it boots, It loads all the teleports to the maps to. So when I disable it, all this crap hits the fan. :p

I guess I can try using gandanur and sapp side-by-side and see how that goes?

If that's mostly what you use sapp for, you can just try straight gandanur without sapp, as it has the same functionality. You can change its externally-apparent version with the sv_version command: http://home.scarlet.be/mathy/gandanur/m ... Id=version

I tried using gandanur but cannot get it to run alone. I did format my server and installed Windows Server 2003 x86 and so far no issues. I will let it run over night and see what happens. If there is another issue I will be back. lol
